BBG Watch Just Asking
We are wondering why the Voice of America (VOA) English news website does not have an interview with former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and Afghanistan Ryan Crocker or at the very least report on his recent New York Times op-ed about Iranian nuclear negotiations. Geneva negotiations with Iran on the nuclear question are, after all, a top news story. News is news. The fact that Ambassador Crocker is also a member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), which oversees VOA, is irrelevant.
It would be very difficult to find a better-informed and better-connected expert on U.S. policy toward Iran than Ambassador Crocker. The senior management of VOA should know this.
Numerous U.S. media and even the Voice of Russia reported on Crocker’s NYT op-ed.
Couldn’t VOA conduct an interview with Ambassador Crocker as did Dallas Morning News editorial writer Tod Robberson?
