Today we recommend Journal of Democracy article on the role of state-run media in countries with authoritarian leanings, which mentions that authoritarian regimes try to block broadcasters like Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Radio Free Asia.

It is also worth noting that there have been only a few media articles on management changes initiated by the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) and of those very few noted the previous dysfunction of the International Broadcasting Bureau or that this is a major reform effort on the part of BBG members to reform it.
