Broadcasting Board Of Governors To Meet TodayAccording to an announcement on the BBG official website, an open meeting of the Broadcasting Board of Governors will be held today, Friday, February 22, 2013 at the BBG headquarters Washington, D.C. The briefing is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. (EST)

The agenda includes updates from the Governance and the Strategy & Budget Committees, programming initiatives and development updates from OCB, VOA, RFE/RL, RFA and MBN, as well as a report from IBB Director.

Public seating is no longer available, however the briefing will be available for public observation via streamed webcast, below.

BBG Watch has learned that Governors Mulhaupt, Ashe, and Sonenshine will attend in person. Governor McCue is to participate by video. Governor Meehan is expected to phone in.

By law, a quorum of the Board is five members.

Governor Lynton plans to participate in at least some of the proceedings by phone.

Ann Noonan, Executive Director of the independent Committee for U.S. International Broadcasting (CUSIB – cusib.org) is expected to make a short statement in support of efforts by the BBG and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) new acting resident Kevin Klose to resolve the crisis at Radio Liberty in Russia.
