January 19, 2019 tweet by a senior Voice of America (VOA) reporter accusing “the Covington Catholic Boys School” students from Kentucky of “a disgusting and mortifying display or [sic] privilege and disrespect.” It called for students to “be outed” and “face stern discipline.” The tweet had the #NativeAmericans hashtag and could have had an impact on U.S. voters. VOA is a U.S. government operation funded by all U.S. taxpayers. The VOA reporter is a federal government employee. The tweet was removed after several days.
