BBG Watch Commentary
Greg Burns, a representative of Local 1418 which is one of the three employee unions at the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG, told BBG members at their open meeting in Washington last Thursday that they should hold regular meetings with the unions to hear from them directly about their concerns. Burns said that the entire BBG agency, including its non-federal grantee media outlets, should be federalized and the idea of de-federalization should be dropped. Burns also mentioned that the Voice of America (VOA) has both federal workers and contract employees.
