Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing for Michael Pack to be confirmed by the full Senate for the position of the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) CEO has been scheduled for September 19, 2019.
A string of constant management and programming scandals under Obama administration era outgoing USAGM CEO John F. Lansing may have convinced reluctant Democrats on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to withdraw their objections to Pack’s nomination. Pack is an award-winning producer of documentary films for PBS and a former director of Worldnet Television in the no longer existing United States Information Agency (USIA).
