BBG Watch Commentary
The online publication Radio World has been following rather closely developments in U.S. international broadcasting.
The two most recent reports focus on last week’s hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee on the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) and a statement from the independent Committee for U.S. International Broadcasting (CUSIB -cusib.org) calling for further Congressional scrutiny and reforms of the BBG’s bureaucratic arm, the International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB).

CUSIB welcomed the hearing but expressed disappointment in the testimony of the witnesses. It called for more Congressional testimony on reforming U.S. international broadcasting from witnesses with alternative viewpoints.
