VOA Featured Video after President Obama's speech to the nation on Syria.
VOA Featured Video after President Obama’s speech to the nation on Syria.

Voice of America (VOA) “Featured Video” on the English news website this morning is still about monkeys and other illegally traded animals. President Obama’s last night’s speech on Syria is not featured as of 9 AM, even though both VOA Director David Ensor and VOA Executive Editor Steve Redisch are former CNN television staffers. The VOA English homepage also shows this morning no U.S. reactions to the President’s speech. It can only be concluded that under their leadership Voice of America central news gathering and reporting operation has imploded.

Last night, it took VOA hours to add video to its very short report on the speech. Both BBC and Russia Today had video and three hours after the speech had hundreds of Facebook “Likes” compared to only 15 for VOA.

We described VOA’s coverage of President Obama’s speech on Syria as “shameful.” As of 9 AM Washington, DC time, there is still no U.S. reaction piece on the VOA English homepage.
