Who will do the work at the Voice of America (VOA) if the current management practices continue at the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG)?
The BBG’s International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) offered a buyout opportunity from March 21 through May 4 for BBG federal employees. We have learned that the agency is processing 35 applications. What’s interesting is that 24 of these buyout applications from the Voice of America (VOA), three from the Office of Cuba Broadcasting, but ONLY eight from IBB.
What does that tell us? Why are broadcasters, journalists and other programming employees leaving in much larger numbers? Will the BBG soon have nothing but senior executives and other managers?
