BBG Watch Commentary
BBG Watch has linked with World Media Watch website which offers “a convenient way to see and compare what news major media outlets are reporting at any given time,” according to a description of the project. The website promises to “highlight and analyze media reports on the web from a variety of sources and countries.”
The project is managed by journalists and international media experts.
We have put a link to World Media Watch at the top of our homepage for make it easy for our readers to compare what major media outlets are reporting and to see what WM Watch analysts have to say.
In one of their first posts, they noted a VOA report on threats to private electronic communications during the Winter Olympics in Russia. As World Media Watch pointed out, the VOA report failed to acknowledge the controversy over NSA spying and thus created an unfortunate impression that it was largely done for propaganda, even though the report had very interesting content.
