Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Western Hemisphere subcommittee, has called for the first hearings for Tuesday, February 3.

Among those scheduled to testify are Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta Jacobson, who recently led the U.S. delegation during normalization talks in Havana, and Tomasz Malinowski, Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor.

Also invited to testify will be Rosa Maria Payá, daughter of the late Cuban dissident Oswaldo Payá, (who presided over the Christian Liberation Movement); Berta Soler, president of the Ladies in White; Miriam Leiva, human rights activist and freelance journalist and Manuel Cuesta Morua, head of Progressive Arc, a social-democratic political party that is in opposition to Cuba’s communist party.

TV Martí’s special coverage will be continuous with highlights on the 5:00 pm newscast “Antena Live” and seen in Cuba on DirecTV.
